Troubleshooting

”Memory exhausted” during large imports

Section titled “”Memory exhausted” during large imports”

Problem: PHP runs out of memory when importing large files. Solution:

  1. Increase WP_MEMORY_LIMIT in wp-config.php to 512M.
  2. Go to WordPress Admin Sidebar > UMIE > Settings and reduce the Batch Size (try 20 or 10).

Problem: Records fail to import. Solution:

  1. Check that required fields (like post_title or product_name) are mapped.
  2. Verify your user has permission to create that post type.
  3. Check Tools > Scheduled Actions for detailed error logs.

Solution:

  1. Ensure you copied the full key including UMIE- prefix.
  2. Verify the key exists in your Account Dashboard.
  3. If you created a new key, ensure it matches the domain you are using.

”Domain not activated” or “Site URL mismatch”

Section titled “”Domain not activated” or “Site URL mismatch””

Problem: The license key is valid, but not for this specific website URL. Solution:

  1. Go to your Dashboard.
  2. Check the Activations list for your license.
  3. If the slot is taken by an old site (e.g., staging), click Deactivate to free it up.
  4. Re-save settings in WordPress.

Problem: AI Mapping or Extraction fails with a credit error. Solution:

  1. Check your balance at Account > Credits.
  2. Wait for your monthly allowance reset (Pro plans).
  3. Purchase a Token Pack for immediate credits.
  4. Enable “Fall back to fuzzy matching” in settings to continue working without AI.

Solution:

  1. Your server firewall might be blocking outgoing requests.
  2. Allow requests to https://umie.pro and https://api.umie.pro.
  3. Check if you are running a local environment without internet access.

If imports appear stuck or data doesn’t show:

  1. Clear all caches (Page Cache, Object Cache).
  2. Exclude /wp-json/umie/v1/* from caching rules.

If API requests fail with 403 Forbidden:

  1. Whitelist the UMIE REST API namespace umie/v1.
  2. Ensure your IP is not blocked by the security plugin.

Problem: No Source Language or Destination Language dropdowns appear in the UMIE interface. Solution:

  1. Verify WPML or Polylang is installed and active.
  2. Confirm at least 2 languages are configured in the multilingual plugin settings.
  3. For Source Language: a driver source and target must be selected.
  4. For Destination Language: a WordPress destination and target must be selected.

Problem: Exported data includes posts from all languages despite selecting a source language. Solution:

  1. Verify the post type is registered as translatable in your WPML or Polylang settings.
  2. Check that you selected the language before starting the export.

Imported posts not getting language assigned

Section titled “Imported posts not getting language assigned”

Problem: Posts are imported but don’t have a language assigned. Solution:

  1. Select a Destination Language in the sidebar before starting the import.
  2. Verify the destination post type is registered as translatable in WPML/Polylang settings.
